I saw your next car poll. It would be fantastic to have the orange and cream Pinto. We have one as a show car and we named it Geraldine after the original owner. We have traveled coast to coast showing the car. Do you need it for publicity?

I missed yesterday's sneak peek. Where can I see it? Not having Loralei as Stephanie is throwing me a bit. I'd love to have her doing them.

Not to worry. We'll repeat the beginning ones before they move into the next sneak peak stage. I would have liked to have Lorelei or CJ do the voice, but they didn't have the equipment to record an MP3 and send it to me. On the plus side, we are going to do a fourteen day countdown with clips from the audio book, like we did last year.-- Alex

Typically how long do we have to wait in line at the signings? Is it a first base only?

We hand out numbered wristbands so you don't have to stand for too long. There is no limit to the number of wristbands handed out. You can get a wristband early and then come back at the start time. Or you can get one at the start time and go sit in the cafe and relax for a bit. Number of people attending vary. It's rarely under 400 and rarely over 2,000.-- Alex

What color was Stephanie's prom dress? Rangers tie? Joes tie? How about Alex Barnaby's dress?

At least once a week. Sometimes it's a side dish, sometimes it's the main course. Got to have macaroni.-- Alex

I was just reading the first ever newsletter and it said your site was getting 60 - 70,000 hits a day. What are you getting now? Have you reached Martha Stewart status yet? Also will the next newsletter be out next month?

I think that 70,000 was for a month's worth of hits back then. These days, not counting June, we average around 13,553,941 hits a month. I suspect Martha still has me beat. The newsletter will be online June 1.-- Alex

First off I LOVE BATSTER! my question is if there will be any more Batster stories, and when eill they be posted?

I would LOVE to finish Batster vs. the Beer Bandits. I'm working really hard to get things under control so I can have a little bit more free time to do fun stuff like that. Hopefully Batster will be back in 2009.-- Alex

No plans for another Barnaby novel in 2009. We'll have to wait and se what happens for 2010.-- Alex

thought I'd ask for an update on Joe's house. I see in the FF excerpt that he's rebuilt the garage after it exploded in EOT? But, no bar-b-que in the back yard?

Yup. The garage has been rebuilt. Joe has a little grill that he can tailgate with and store away in the winter.-- Alex

When is the new excerpt being put online for Fearless Fourteen? It's the first today (here in Aus) and I was hoping it would be up!

The book signing in Omaha. The bookstore told me it was at 7pm but your website says 6pm do you know what the correct time is going to be?

6 PM. I suspect they normally start signings at 7 PM and the person you talked to didn't know about the change. Not a big deal though. We'll still be there at 7 PM.-- Alex

When will you come on tour to england?

It's been forever since we've toured the UK. Hopefully we'll be back in 2009.-- Alex

Will the L.A. signing be just a signing or will there also be a Q & A etc. like in San Diego? When will the bands be given out at each event?

No. The signing in Santa Monica is just a signing. No Q&A or readings. We will still have balloons and stickers and stuff like that though. The stores will start handing out wristbands when they open in the morning. Wristbands are not limited in number. Janet doesn't leave until the last book is signed.-- Alex

What is the difference between the regular edition of a book and the book club edition? Why would a collector only want the regular edition?

Just the dimensions of the book. The content is the same. The retail book is rarer when it comes to first editions of a first book. Even better than the first edition in the retail size would be an ARC (advance reading copy).-- Alex

As a plus size woman myself -- I was wondering if Lula was actually obeast or just considered big-boned? Also, where does she get all of these wild XL clothes from?

She's more like "a lot of woman". It's easy to find crazy clothes, two sizes too small when you shop out of Joey "the thumbs" car trunk.-- Alex
