This just in. The first book of the new Diesel series, Wicked Appetite, will be published on September 14, 2010.  There will be a book tour, but we don't yet have the cities and dates yet.  We should know more about that by early August.

The New Readers' Pets were updated today.  The chickens come home to roost.  Lucky turned 15 last week!  Skippy just loves stuffed toys.  Despite barely passing obedience school, Aerosmith brings home the sheepskin anyway.

A:  We try to have the excerpt up on the website by March 1, but sometimes it's a little later than that.  As soon as Janet is finished editing the copy, we'll post it.  We'll also announce it on the home page.

A reader from England wrote and photographed a terrific new twist on the grilled peanut butter sandwich.  This one has peanut butter and rhubarb compote between two flour tortillas -- sort of a quesadilla for the lactose intolerant.

me the bird and blew his horn.

Q:  Is it true that Katherine Heigl will portray Stephanie on the big screen in One For the Money? How much of a say did Janet have?

A:  Yes, Katherine Heigl is now the actress attached to the One For the Money movie project.  Prior to Heigl it was Reese Witherspoon, and before her it was Jennifer Lopez.  Janet sold the rights to One For the Money in 1993, before the book was even on the shelves.  We're very excited about the movie possibly going into production after all these years.  Like most authors who have had a novel bought to be made into a movie, Janet has no say, or influence, when it comes to casting or the script.

The new Diesel book coming out in September (no exact date yet) is going to be called Wicked Appetite.

     I dropped a few hamster nuggets into his bowl and made some smoochy sounds.  Rex opened his black eyes and blinked. He twitched his whiskers, gave a good sniff, and rejected the nuggets. I couldn't blame him. I'd tried them for breakfast yesterday and hadn't been impressed.

TriStar (now Columbia) has signed on Katherine Heigl to play the part of Stephanie Plum in the movie of One For the Money.  We are not involved in the casting process, but if we hear of any other actors being signed on we will post the news ASAP.  There is no word yet on when the movie might go into actual production.

Q:  Will Stephanie Plum be in the new Diesel series?

A:  No.  Only one of the Plum regulars will be joining Diesel in his new series (in bookstores sometime in September) -- Carl the monkey.
