Twinkles has never appeared in a Plum novel. His sad, and epic saga has only appeared on the Q&A board...
until now.
We offer you a rare, and unauthorized look into the childhood of one Ricardo "Carlos" Manoso. Perhaps the following tale will help us all understand the "Man of Mystery" a bit better... perhaps not. Grab a box of tissues and some chocolate bars to console yourself. What follows is the story of Ranger and his childhood pet, Twinkles, the guppy.

Little Ranger wanted a pet. His mother took him down to the pet store, and Ranger picked out the prettiest and smartest of all the 400 million guppies in the tank. He took the guppy home, filled his fish bowl with blue stones and a tacky plastic castle. He named the guppy Twinkles.
As exciting as Twinkles was, floating in his bowl, Ranger yearned for bigger and better things. In hopes of upgrading to a puppy one day, Ranger took Twinkles out for a walk. Even took baggies just in case Twinkles had to do #2. Sadly, being a guppy, Twinkles did not have a neck and his collar slipped off while they were crossing the street. Sadly, being a guppy, Twinkles did not weigh a whole lot and Ranger didn't notice his missing Twinkles until he heard the chimes of the ice cream truck. He turned and saw Twinkles, lying like a tiny sack of wet cement in the road. He had just enough time to yell out "TWIIIIINKLES" before the unseemly accident occurred. Ranger never ate ice cream out of a truck again.
